Óscar Pereiro repeats in “La Vuelta a Ibiza MTB SCOTT by Shimano”  

It will be the second year for this professional ex-cyclist who, once again, opens the 'casting' to find someone to accompany him in the test.                        

Ibiza, February 17, 2023. It is an indisputable truth that whoever participates once in the Tour of Ibiza MTB SCOTT by Shimano, repeats. The round in stages has a special magic and if not, ask Óscar Pereiro, who puts his jersey on again to return to Ibiza at Easter.

The 2006 Tour de France champion was hard pressed and finally participated in 2022. Now, a year later, he is still looking for who he will participate in the most famous stage test with. “The first time I couldn't find a partner and I hope that in 2023 I will enjoy the Tour of Ibiza MTB SCOTT by Shimano as a couple. I always say that whoever wants me, ask me. Of course, It must be someone who goes with same attitude as me. I respect those who are going to compete, but I like to take “La Vuelta” as something calmer. Being able to enjoy the landscapes that the island offers, its climate, what it offers when the stage ends… Being accompanied is different. I want to have that feeling of being able to help my partner achieve the goal together”, Pereiro pointed out regarding his plans for this edition.

It is, without a doubt, a test that is not only its competitive part. “It is the typical test in which you participate and you are already looking forward to repeating. It has something special. It's a totally different 'deal'. It doesn't always go with the weather, but last year it was spectacular. We were able to enjoy an incredible temperature, riding through the routes designed by the organization, with the most amazing landscapes of Ibiza as a background... Simply, you have it all", assured the ex-cyclist. "The best thing is that feeling of mixing the competition with the good atmosphere. You feel like you're in the family. And you have the option of going for the victory, or as is my case, to live a unique experience. I don't know who would want to miss it. While they can, it's marked in red on my calendar”, he wanted to add regarding the test.

“La Vuelta a Ibiza MTB SCOTT by Shimano” is already preparing for the countdown. This year the three-time World Champion Óscar Freire will make his debut and now, Óscar Pereiro joins as the second confirmed cyclist.
